About the Author: Maolsheachlann Ó Ceallaigh

Maolsheachlann Ó Ceallaigh (centre, in burgundy)• He/him • Author of “Family Folklore”

I was born in 1977 and I’ve lived in Dublin my whole life. Since 2001, I’ve worked as a library assistant in UCD. My book Inspiration from the Saints was published in 2018 and I’ve had articles published in Ireland’s Own, St. Martin’s Magazine, and some other publications. My poem “Family Folklore” relates to this issue’s theme of blood in two ways; first, families are mostly related by blood (hence “blood relatives”); secondly, family folklore circulates within a family in the same way blood circulates within the body, and they both give life.
