About the Artist: Katy Kennedy

Katy Kennedy • She/her • Creator of “Portrait of The Artist”

Katy Kennedy is a UCD psychology student, as well as an oil painter and pastel artist. She especially enjoys painting portraits and every day scenes with a focus on the themes of nostalgia and identity. She has painted a number of murals including a Dublin Canvas light box and event murals for the Nightmare Realm. She started to take painting seriously at the age of 17 and received a special merit in the Texaco children’s art competition. She is working on learning classical drawing techniques.

This painting is a portrait of her as a child being painted by her hand from the future representing how we shape ourselves through our actions.
