Giorgio • They/them • Creator of “A Family Together”
Visionary, imaginator, dream weaver. Giorgio was descended from a long line of humans and had been taking pictures since the invention of heliography. Mixing a unique blend of pixels, Giorgio was certainly a master of the art of pointing and clicking. Giorgio allegedly grew up in a country which taught that the physical limits of the mind do not need to define us.
Perhaps best known for their war photography, Giorgio never stopped experimenting with photography, often resorting to mind control to get the picture just right. Despite the fact they are no longer on planet earth, Giorgio’s pictures live on as a bright example of what someone with too much time on their hands can get up to.
The pieces on display here show us exactly that. While they could use more positivity, they delve deep into the inhuman psyche to show us a world we often try to ignore. A world that doesn’t seem to make sense but when distilled into a single frame remains a mystery.
Once, when asked to explain their technique, Giorgio stated: “Who the hell are you? Get out of my house, I’m not a photographer.”
Wise words. We could really learn a lot from that uniquely human philosophy.
