Submissions for Issue IX will open on September 24
The Autumn 2024 Term Staff are excited to open up submissions for Issue IX of New World Order! Below you will find the details and guidelines for submission. Writers and poets of traditionally underrepresented identities are particularly encouraged to submit.
We are accepting writings on all topics in the following literary categories:
- Poetry, written or spoken*
- Fiction– up to 2500 words.
- Non-fiction – up to 2500 words (essays, interviews, book reviews etc.).
- Art and Photography, any medium.
Notes: With our goals of diversity and accessibility in mind, we are welcoming entries in all languages, however, we do request that you provide a translation for the piece in English as well.
We are accepting audio recordings/performances of any pieces. Please submit audio files in .mp3 format.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
- Submissions are limited to: one fiction piece, one non-fiction piece, up to 5 poetry submissions and any number of art/photography submissions. Please include the category you are submitting to at the top of your piece.
- We are accepting previously published pieces however we kindly ask that you let us know where and when your piece has been published previously. We also ask you to let us know if any of your submissions get accepted elsewhere.
- Written pieces will only be accepted as a Word or Google document (with each separate entry being a separate document) in .docx format.
- Photographs and artwork will only be accepted as .jpeg or .png files.
- Files must be titled in the following format: AuthorName/Anonymous_Category_EntryNumber.docx (e.g. ColmOShea_Art_3.docx).
- Please include a short bio about yourself in the email (circa 100 words) along with your name and preferred pronouns.
- Anonymous submissions are more than welcome!
- Please include trigger warnings where appropriate.
