S.M. Gazzola • She/her • Author of “Monday Nights” and “Exiled Oaks”

Sofia Murphy Gazzola is a poet and fiction author from Dublin, Ireland. She is currently a Second Year Student at UCD studying English with Creative Writing. Sofia’s poetry explores themes of identity, self image, nature and loneliness. Her fiction is a balanced mix of both prose and incorporated poetic lyricism. Sofia explores similar themes as her poetry in her fiction with a confessional tone and focused imagery. Her pieces “Monday Nights” and “Exiled Oaks” are examples of such works, exploring themselves with the incorporation of blood as a means to understand one’s own suffering and exploration of self.
